I today’s podcast Ed Dale touched on some common mistakes from the 8 sites he reviewed.
Market Research – most mistakes were made here.
People were trying for phrases well outside of the criteria (200 searches 30,000 max phrase search competing pages). You can vary some here but you can’t have 1.2 million competitors and 10 searches (my exaggeration). Below is an example of a good phrase to explore as far as the numbers.
Markets – had phrases that really had nothing to sell – no affiliate products.
Content – did not use the keyword phrases in the domain (very important) or in the title of the post or in the first paragraph of the post.
Note – you should wait for the first article to be indexed before submitting articles that do not have the exact keyword phrase in the title.
